UPDATE: The winner is Joye!!! Congratulations and thanks for entering :)
Everyone else, I'll be holding another Friday Flash Giveaway next week, so please stop by to enter!
Happy Friday, everyone! As I promised, today will be the very first (of I hope many) Friday Flash Giveaways, my shameless way of getting you to chime in with your thoughts here in my little corner of blog-world. This giveaway will run through midnight tonight, with the winner announced tomorrow around noon EST. What's up for grabs? A $10 gift card to your choice of Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or Sephora -- and all you have to do to enter is leave a comment here today!
This week, since my co-authors and I are celebrating the release of our Summer on Main Street boxed set (still holding strong at a solid Amazon rank of #450, with 25 reviews!!), the question to enter the giveaway is easy:
What's your favorite part of summer?
I'll start: since I'm a teacher, my favorite part is that I'm on vacation!
Okay readers, your turn! Tell me your favorite part of summer, and I"ll randomly pick one commenter to win a $10 gift card. Doesn't get any easier than that!
Whew! I'm exhausted, and it's only Wednesday! Yesterday was the official release of our Summer on Main Street boxed set, and I'm thrilled to report that we had a marvelous opening day. Our sales rank at the end of yesterday was #515 on Amazon (really terrific number, representing about 1200 total sales), and this morning it was an even better #188! We also have just under 20 reviews posted, which I'm really happy with as well. All this will ideally translate to increased visibility over the next few days.
But it's tiring, chatting all over social media and checking sales numbers and then throwing what turned out to be a very busy and well-attended virtual release party yesterday afternoon/evening.
(<--This was me by 7:00 last night...)
Next week, I'll blog about throwing a Facebook release party, because I think we did a few things RIGHT to get a high turnout and participation rate.
And THIS FRIDAY, I'll be holding my very first Flash Friday giveaway right here on this blog, so make sure to check back in 2 days and see what you can win!
It occurred to me, as I was sketching out my summer writing and promo calendar, that I have a lot on my plate (that may be an understatement). Of course you probably know that the Summer on Main Street boxed set releases TOMORROW (squee!), but I'm also working on other projects and thinking into 2016. Sometimes that's crazy to even consider, but it's also exciting to look ahead and think of where I want my writing and my career to go. So, I thought I'd let you in on what will likely be coming down the pike for me (and my readers!) in the next 12 months or so...
Miracle of Love, a Christmas novella set in Lindsey Point, will be 1 of 10 brand new novellas in the Passionate Kisses 3: Under the Mistletoe boxed set coming out in Fall 2015.
Winter's Wonder will be a stand-alone Christmas novella coming out with Samhain Publishing in November 2015.
And I'm currently working on Solider of Love, the next book in the Hometown Heroes series, along with an untitled novel to follow Winter's Wonder, both slated for early-to-mid 2016. (Hmm. Hope I can manage all this...)
If you want to know about my new releases when (or before!) they happen, you can "follow" me over at Amazon. It's easy -- just click here, then click the "Follow" button under my author photo, and you'll get an email each time I have a new release.
Also, I'm on Instagram now, so if you want to know why I posted about that incredibly cute furry guy at the top of my post (and other writing and non-writing photos), you can follow me there at authorallieboniface.
Finally, yes I will be trying out Friday Flash Giveaways for the next few weeks, so please drop by this Friday and see what you can win!
Happy reading, everyone :)
What do you guys think? Would you be inclined to enter a flash giveaway on Fridays? (Flash giveaway: one that lasts a short period of time, like less than a day)
I'm working on ways to get more people, more engaged, here in my little blog corner of the world. I'm not sure if posting daily, or posting pictures of my cats, or sharing photos of hot guys with ripped abs or putting up short stories or excerpts or offering things like gift certificates or books or jewelry for FREE!!#*%!! on a regular basis would do it, or what.
Thoughts? (I know, I know -- you readers are an incredibly shy bunch. But I'll still keep asking!)
Oh, hey, in the meantime, have you pre-ordered the Summer on Main Street set yet? It's a perfect addition to your Nook or Kindle for poolside reading! Vickie on Goodreads just posted this about The Promise of Paradise, which you'll find inside this boxed set:
"A heartwarming story that finds two broken hearts. Ashton and Eddie meet each other when they become housemates and find they have to learn to trust. Tragedy strikes and truths must be told so mending can start. The conclusion made this story great, in an already exciting book."
Hello writers! Today I'm sharing a link with you via the talented and best-selling H.M. Ward's blog. She talks all about the strategies she uses with each new release (granted, she's well known and established, but still), many of which are free or low cost. Her key piece of advice? Boost your book's visibility as much as possible -- make it easy for people to find it and buy it. Take a read and enjoy! (And then get back to writing your next book...)

Okay, so who here watches the HBO show Game of Thrones? Hubby and I became addicted a couple of years ago (it's the only reason we subscribe to HBO), and last night's finale to Season 5 was (true-to-form) crazy, unpredictable, heart-breaking, and cause for celebration.
I won't post spoilers, in case you don't watch it, aren't caught up, or didn't get a chance to watch last night's episode yet. All I can say is that I thought most of the story lines were wrapped up brilliantly (if I can use "wrapped up" to describe this show). What's so great about this show? It's brutal as all get-out, it's graphic, and it's unpredictable -- meaning don't get attached to any one character, because there is no guarantee any character, even the most heroic, even the most likable, will survive a season.
What's so great about Game of Thrones is the character building and the conflict. It's compelling. You are drawn into this world and can't look away. Some of the relationships make you cheer. Some make you cringe. But the characters are all flawed and fascinating. It's brilliant television....and I can't believe I have to wait almost a year for Season 6!
Summer on Main Street releases in less than 2 weeks, so make sure to sign up for our release party....I'm hearing rumors that authors are giving away some terrific prizes! From 4 pm - 7pm EST on Tuesday, June 23, but the party site will remain open for 24 hours afterwards to make sure everyone can drop in and post! Join us by clicking on the picture below:
And we already have some early reviews of the set, over on Goodreads!
"[Tell Me True] is a perfect romance for a nice summer day to take you away from everything and spend a couple of hours with a great love story." ~5 Stars
"[After Paradise] was a refreshing heartwarming romance that snuck up on you. I fell in love with the characters and the innocence the story brought." ~5 Stars
Calling all authors: we're always looking for new places to promote our releases and sales, right? So today's mention is for a relatively new one in cyber-world, The Books Machine. In their own words:
I’d like to let you know about the website The Books Machine, where you will find good books to read, free Kindle books, the best ebook deals, and a distinctive feature: book usually available for a fee, given away directly by their authors. Here is the link; I hope you enjoy: http://www.thebooksmachine.com/
I've used them a couple of times in the past and are worth your consideration when planning when and where to spend your advertising dollars. Good luck, and write on!
Hey everyone, look who has new bookmarks to show off! Aren't they pretty? Courtesy of Dawn at Book Graphics -- she handled the design as well as the printing and shipping, for a really reasonable cost, too. Can't wait to start sharing them!
