I'm excited to share the news that, for the next 90 days, The Promise of Paradise will be available through Kindle Unlimited for $0.00 if you're a member. Now, if you're a writer, or you follow the Kindle Unlimited controversy, you might already know the pros and cons of KU. Basically, it's a subscription service through Amazon that allows readers to pay a monthly fee and download as many books as they'd like. The downside to that is that not all books are enrolled in KU.
The downside for authors is that they are not paid per download (the way they would be paid per sale), but per pages read. Also, each month the payout amount can change, depending on what Amazon allocates. Right now, that's about 3 cents/page. That means if a reader downloads The Promise of Paradise and reads the first chapter but no more, I would make roughly 10 cents. If the reader reads the whole book, I would make roughly $4.50. Some authors are doing tremendously well in KU. Some are losing money.
I'm still experimenting with sales and promotion, so I decided to try out KU for 3 months. That means for YOU, if you're a subscriber, you can read The Promise of Paradise (and I hope you'll read the whole book!) for free, now through March 27.
Please spread the word! And happy reading to you all in 2016!!
