This is the 34th annual Holiday in Homer (it's only been cancelled once for bad weather in all those years) and it truly is THE place that the locals go to shop, get homemade pulled pork sandwiches, try to dunk the minister in the dunking booth, hold class reunion pictures on the steps of the elementary school, watch glassblowers, visit a quilt display, and catch up with friends.
For me, it is one of my favorite events of the year to sell my books, because the people in my hometown treat me like a rock star. I see parents of childhood friends, former teachers, good friends and their now-growing children, as well as new local residents, and they all are so excited that I'm a published author. I have my regulars who buy my new releases every year no matter what, and it's truly the best feeling in the world. Guess it's no wonder I write about the magic of small towns in a lot of my books!
So YES I will be there this year, in my usual spot across from the Congregational Church Memorial Garden, and I have 2 new print books since last summer: Cocktail Cruises and Labyrinth of Love. Come see me! I can't wait to catch up with everyone!
